THE CITY TOUR WITH 51 INTERESTING SITES

Let yourself be tempted to get to know Zurich and its stories. It's best to do as the religious refugees did on their journey and take two or three rest days in Zurich on your hike. Welcome to our city!

The people of Zurich took great interest in the fate of the Huguenots and Waldensians - not only during the Great Refuge (1685-1720) but also long before that time. In 1655 and 1663 it was Zurich diplomats who negotiated peace for the Waldensians with the Duke of Savoy in 1663 and put into practice the demands of the Protestant princes. This is just one of the many surprising facts that the trail has in store for you. There are also exciting stories to be told about the relationship between the Zurich Reformer Huldrych Zwingli and Guillaume Farrel, who paved the way for Jean Calvin as well as Zwingli’s successors, Heinrich Bollinger and Jean Calvin.

If you want to do the whole tour and use the tram three times, it is worth buying a day ticket which is valid 24 hours.

You will sometimes find a church, a restaurant (Gastro) at the historical sights, perhaps a hotel or interesting shops. Have fun!
